When students disparaged and defamed Montreal-area teachers on the Internet two years ago, the incidents rattled and incensed many teachers.

It also helped prompt the Quebec Provincial Association of Teachers to launch its first survey to see how often teachers in the province's English school system are subjected to cyber-bullying and violence.
